On Tuesday 27th of September 2022, the 3rd Nicosia District Network Meeting in the context of the project 'Building structures for intercultural integration in Cyprus', took place at CODECA’s Premises in Agios Dometios, Nicosia.
The aim of the 3rd Network meeting was to facilitate the preparation of an Intercultural Strategy and Action Plan for Nicosia District, based on the results of the ICC Index as well as the suggestions made during the previous Network meeting. The Action Plan will be the basis for projects and initiatives for Nicosia District and fit into the future work and integration action on a local and national scale.
Within the framework of the meeting, CODECA had the pleasure to host Mrs. Nichola Howson, from the Council of Europe, and Mr. Dani De Torres, an expert in the Intercultural Cities programme of the Council of Europe and the Director of the Spanish Network of Intercultural Cities (RECI). Mr. De Torres has advised several cities and organisations on diversity policies and has been in more than 25 countries giving lectures and workshops on intercultural policies and competences, and on the ant rumours approaches.
Mrs. Howson and Mr. De Torres were present to guide and moderate the 3rd Network Meeting’s discussions on the development of the Nicosia District Network Action Plan.
The project is funded by the Council of Europe (COE) and the Directorate General of the European Commission for the Support of Structural Reforms (DG REFORM), in collaboration with the Civil Registry and Migration Department of the Ministry of Interior of the Republic of Cyprus.
